Thank you for visiting our congregation today.
We are an open, liberal religious community with a focus on environmental sustainability and eco-spirituality. We have a long history in the Pasadena area, and we are laying the foundations for a bright future. We gather people together here at Throop to go deeper into their spiritual lives through communal worship, covenant groups, and program activities. Then we scatter out into the world, putting our faith into action by bringing hope and healing to a world much in need of it.
I invite you to join us for one or all of our Sunday morning activities.
- Our garden team connects with the earth from 8:30 - 10 am
- Choir rehearsal runs from 9 - 10 am.
- A philosophy video discussion happens from 10-11 am.
- A new, earth-based meditation on our patio from 10:30-10:55. - Community worship from 11 - noon.
- Kids Dig In! children's program from 11 - noon.
- Social hour, and Second Sunday lunch, noon - 1:00 pm
Your participation on Sunday mornings is a wonderful way to start creating a community at Throop.
Each quarter I host a "Newcomers Social" at my home, a casual gathering where newcomers have a chance to get to know one another and to support each other in the experience of being new to Throop.
Members of Throop often share meaningful stories about how Throop Church has changed their lives. Their membership here has opened up new ways of being in the world for them: they have developed new friendships, found love, started singing, learned how to garden, brought food to the hungry, deepened their relationship with Spirit, and discovered multiple ways that their individual - or collective - actions can change the world.
You are joining us at a time of growth and engagement with the wider community. It is an exciting time. I look forward to your hands and heart joining with ours.
