Welcome!I'm so pleased you are interested in Throop UU. I love this community, and I'm excited for you to get to know us, and for us to get to know you!
For many people, your first visit begins on Sunday morning. If you are new to a religious community, that first moment of coming inside can feel momentous. If you feel that way - you are not alone. I assure you - you and your family will be warmly welcomed upon arrival. We welcome single people, families, young adults, older adults, people of color, GLBTQI, multi-faith families, and people of all abilities. We welcome people who come with joy in their hearts, and we welcome the broken-hearted. You can see a little more about our Sunday morning experience here. Your participation on Sunday mornings is a wonderful way to start creating a community at Throop. And we invite you to continue building bonds by attending a "Newcomers Social" at my home, hosted every month. And you are always welcome at any program or ministry activity. Members of Throop often share meaningful stories about how Throop Church has changed their lives. Their participation has opened up new ways of being in the world for them: they have developed new friendships, found love, started singing, learned how to garden, brought food to the hungry, deepened their relationship with Spirit, and discovered multiple ways that their individual - or collective - actions can change the world. You are joining us at a time of growth and engagement with the wider community. It is an exciting time. I look forward to your hands and heart joining with ours as we go love the world from the heart of Pasadena. With love, Rev. Dr. Tera Landers, Senior Pastor |
