Board Vice President: Maureen Harrington
Maureen Harrington was raised in Garden City, New York and Vienna, Virginia (DC Metropolitan Area). In 2016, Maureen and her husband, Gordon Maas, retired and moved to Pasadena to be near family. Soon after their arrival, they walked into Throop UU and met Rev. Tera, quickly realizing they had found their spiritual home.
Prior to retirement, Maureen worked in Restaurant Administration, Life and Health Insurance, Financial Services, as a Corporate Paralegal and Business Manager, wrapping up her career in School Administration, stewarding income from endowment funds designated for scholarships, grants and other disbursements.
Maureen was raised Roman Catholic and came to Unitarian Universalism in 1994. Her journey as a UU includes 15 years at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Cleveland (UUCC, formerly First Unitarian Church of Cleveland) where she was Head Usher, Newsletter Editor, Board Member and President of the Board.
Maureen and Gordon have five children and eight grandchildren, who range in age from 4 to 27.
